We are looking for a Junior Software Tester to join the Production team.
Successful candidate will be working closely with our developers to ensure provision of solid testing and QA processes while continuously improving standards. With guidance from the department head and senior developers, you will help developing and carrying out test plans/test cases on all software applications, with scope for writing unit tests and conducting manual and automated User Acceptance Tests using appropriate software.
The key duties of this role are to identify defects on our software applications and to accurately assess the level of risk or defect the application possesses, and an ability to track issues using various techniques throughout the duration of the development lifecycle and post deployment. Ideally you will have some previous work experience, but having a sharp eye for detail and enthusiasm for quality software will be equally valued.
Good documentation and communication skills will be vital in this role, although there is flexibility as training can be provided in areas of weakness. Mentorship and a career plan will also be in place to ensure you grow with the team.
Key Requirements
- A sharp eye for detail
- To be able to do automated testing with selenium or equivalent technologies
- Well-developed problem solving ability
- Interests in software quality control and development cycle
- A good analytical mind
- High standard documentation skill
- Define and automate test cases for brand new features
- Work closely with the Release Manager to identify and address areas of strength and weakness in the current test and release setup
- Work experience with software testing
- Understanding of functional and non-functional requirements
- Exposure to testing and quality best practice (e.g. ISO9000)
- Programming skills in PHP
- Programming skills in JavaScript, HTML DOM
- Help prioritize bugs and work cross-functionally with Developer/Project/Product teams
- A good understanding of software product lifecycles
- Work closely with Customer Support and other internal teams to close gaps in test coverage
