1. Know about the subject – theory, methods, Programmes of study,
Attainment targets, CIE and other expectations.
2. Arrange resources – knowing about what you have in school, what you need,
what’s available and how to get them.
3. Monitor plans – ensure timely planning, compare plans with expectations, check for clarity of intended outcomes and check for differentiation.
4. Monitor teaching – observe, provide feedback, report on findings. Keep teaching in line with modern techniques.
5. Monitoring children’s work – Checking copies at regular intervals to ensure:
· uniformity and completion of work in all copies
· timely and prompt correction of work by the respective teacher
· compliance of work with the planner
· maintenance of index in all copies
6. Make special efforts to overcome any weaknesses related to his/her team/subject
7. Checking assessment papers
8. Mentoring the teachers in his/her team.
9. Managing subject related curricular and co-curricular activities.
