CloseJob Description
To assist configure, implement and support storage related services to the internal IT services and other external clients within company SOPs, Departmental SOPs and service agreement.
Operations & Maintenance:
- To assist & configure storage when required
- To assist & monitor the:
- Storage infrastructure (SAN, Fiber switches, Backup and restoring) in order to have smooth operations for internal & external clients.
- To assist, monitor & resolve issues with respect to:
- Storage Infrastructure (SAN, Fiber switches, Backup and restoring) in order to resolve technical issues on time and keep the services running for clients.
- Create backup policy,
- Specify schedules for backups,
- Monitor Backups on daily basis,
- Monitor backup tape/cartridge,
- Send full cartridges to respective teams,
- Assist & create storage devices on request,
- Configure switches to interconnect storage device and server,
- Create backup of storage on request,
- Configure control center for “EMC” or any related software in order to provide maximum support for internal & external clients.
Deployment:
- To assist, Implement & verify BOQ with warehouse inventory,
- Receive equipment's from warehouse,
- Mount equipment in DC or where ever required,
- Configure hardware, software and layout,
- Test Equipment's, Provide feedback based on test results in order to deploy equipment's as per clients’ (internal & external) requirements
Internal Departmental Coordination:
- To coordinate with systems, networks, databases, application resources in the relevant department in order to:
- Implement the finalized design of the project as per clients requirements
- Configure, maintain and monitor storage infrastructure that is being used in order to keep the services running
- Get storage requirements as identified by the clients in order to finalize and implement the storage design
Documentation:
- To prepare:
- Configuration documents with regards to storage,
- Visio diagrams and
- Storage logs in order to keep records of all important documents for current and future references.
Vendor Management:
To coordinate with the vendors to resolve other technical issues, within due time related to storage Infrastructure where and when required.
POCs:
To test new technology and do the comparison with old technology along with changes in the configuration as per design in order to make the design more feasible for the clients.
