PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE: 

The Gender Inclusion and Training Officer will develop training materials and implement tools and strategies to increase gender equality and women’s empowerment. 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   

  • Design, coordinate and lead trainings related to promoting women’s democratic leadership, and increasing gender sensitivity among institutional partners and male allies.
  • Lead recruitment of training participants to ensure diverse representation, including minorities and persons with disabilities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local partners and other stakeholders, and work with local partners to strengthen training capacity.
  • Advise and support the planning and implementation of other gender activities, as requested by the Country Director or Senior Gender Advisor.
  • Contribute to donor reporting, data collection, and monitoring and evaluation.
  • Represent IFES with donors, the international community and other stakeholders as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 4 years of work experience in relevant areas, including demonstrated experience designing and implementing trainings related to gender equality and women’s rights.
  • Experience working with international NGOs preferred
  • Excellent writing, reporting, and activity monitoring skills
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel required. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
