Under the DFID funded project “Building Disaster Resilience in Pakistan” directly implemented by International Rescue Committee (IRC) in District Ghotki, IRC will hire preferably one female to work as associate for orientation and distribution of poultry birds to the selected female beneficiaries and coordinate activities related to the Community Livestock Extension Workers (CLEW) Training. She will be responsible to provide technical and supervisory support to beneficiaries at different villages in seven union councils of Ghotki. Keep regular follow ups at field level for ensuring proper caring and raising of poultry for the sustainability of the intervention and perform other related tasks and facilitation and close coordination with CLEW beneficiaries for successful training and practice follow ups.
Roles and responsibilities
Under the overall supervision of the Senior Livelihoods Officer, the Associate will be responsible to perform the following tasks and duties:
Technical Support & Reporting
1. Participate in assessment of potential beneficiaries for poultry birds distribution and other livelihoods intervention including CLEW beneficiaries
2. Provide orientation to beneficiaries regarding home based poultry before and during distribution and orientation to the CLEW beneficiaries for training
3. Provide technical support and monitor the vaccination process of birds during quarantine
4. Make all necessary logistical arrangement timely for smooth distribution and completion of activity
5. Provide onsite facilitation to beneficiaries in field
6. Ensure that all beneficiaries have received approved package well in time
7. Maintain all records of training in soft and hard
8. Prepare all necessary documentation required for finance and file as per SOPs
9. Identify and prepare case studies
10. To promote practices of traditional skills of home based poultry raising.
11. To facilitate selected participants in building backward and forward linkage with relevant market stakeholders for better income generation
12. Ensure timely submission of monthly work plan and progress reports (monthly, quarterly, and final) to supervisor.
13. Ensure regular field visits for technical facilitation to the poultry birds beneficiaries and CLEW beneficiaries on scheduled days and ensure punctuality and regular attendance of targeted beneficiaries on the sites
14. Assist senior livelihoods officer and share information with livelihoods specialist in the day-to-day monitoring of interventions and compile feedback on monthly bases.
15. Perform any other associated task as required by the Supervisor.
