Major Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the implementing partner and Provide effective, innovative, and technical support in  education & protection (gender, child protection, disability).
  • Provide technical guidance to IP in enhancement of literacy skills for the targeted refugees and host students in ALPs and formal schools, including development of IEC materials.
  • Actively participate and present the Program activities at provincial and national level workshops.
  • Conduct fortnightly context analysis with support from MEAL Manager and share the brief with Team Leader ERMP and alter implementation methodology, when required.
  • Support Sr. Education Manager and Child Protection manager in developing project’s reports and arranging trainings for IP staff and Govt officials.
  • Regular coordination with IP for timely and quality periodic reports

Quality Oversight:

  • In Coordination with the Education Manager, Child Protection manager and Team Leader ERMP, Education Coordinator ERMP and the MEAL Manager, oversee the maintenance of a robust monitoring and evaluation framework, including quality control and reporting systems.
  •  Identify capacity building and technical assistance needs for implementing partner and arrange for the provision of needed assistance.
  • Work closely with the Sector leads (Education and Protection) to provide clear technical support, supervision, training, and mentoring to the implementing partner, including training needed to build specialized skills.
  • Build capacity of partner and communities on integration for synergy & community-based monitoring for sustainability of education and protection interventions
  •  Facilitate mentorship, life skills and child to child learning activities in the targeted ALPs and Schools.

Staff supervision:

  • None

Coordination and Representation:

  • Actively develop and maintain effective working relationships with district key stakeholders, including government actors, UN agencies particularly UNHCR and UNICEF, international and local NGOs, and other relevant actors working in education and protection sectors in the targeted districts.
  • Maintain a productive working relationship with implementing partner and conduct bi-weekly and monthly meetings for future planning and technical backstopping.
  • Identify technical assistance needs for implementing partner and arrange for the provision of needed assistance.

Reporting:

  • Support implementing partner in producing high-quality level (Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly) progress report with clear rationale for over/underachievement of the planned targets.
  •  Actively participate in monthly Teaching Learning Circles (TLCs) meetings and produce the quality types of internal reports.
  • Taking and documenting the minutes of meeting at district and provincial level.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Master’s degree in education or Social Sciences.

Work Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in development/humanitarian sector (at least 1-2 years in INGO)/NGO related to integrated education and child protection projects (both for refugees and host communities) implementation directly as well as through implementing partner/s.
  • A minimum experience of 1-2 years for the Program management including both direct implementation and through implementing partners.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Advanced knowledge of the software (Microsoft Windows, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint),
  •  Experience in developing quality level report writing.
  • Experience in training and workshop facilitation
  •  Proven ability to meet deadlines.
  •   Ability to analyze data for Program course correction.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and analytical skills, including the ability to create and deliver presentations.

 Language Skills: 

  • Strong English and Urdu language skills both written and oral; knowledge of local languages will be added value.

 Desirable criteria:

  • Past work experience on Education and Child Protection Program implementation directly as well as through implementing partner/s.
  • Knowledge of Baluchistan education, social and political context
  • Willingness to travel targeted districts extensively and subject to management decision be ready to relocate to Quetta (in the future).
