- Performs in routine and complex tests in an accurate and timely manner in the relative section which may require operation and maintenance of instruments.
- Ensures section / instrument maintenance and enters data on log sheets on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Accurately performs and interprets quality control testing to ensure accuracy of results; organize work and activities to achieve maximum productivity; reports all STATs, critical values and other relevant information to the appropriate patient care provider.
- Is proficient and demonstrates a complete understanding of and compliance with established technical, administrative and organizational policies and procedures.
- Adheres to established policies for attendance, punctuality, and professional performance; demonstrates flexibility in scheduling as required to meet departmental needs.
- Assumes responsibility for professional growth and development’ participates in continuing education to stay current on needed skills.
- Participates in improvement of methods and processes; assists with preparing and maintaining procedures and manuals as necessary.
- Demonstrates at all times, when interacting with patients, staff, students, a positive professional image and values.
- Maintains a safe work environment, compliant with established policies and procedures of regulatory agencies, utilizes personal protective equipment, follows infection control guidelines and responds positively to necessary changes in the work place.
- Maintains clinical and professional competency according to the departmental policies, procedures and protocols as appropriate for the age of patient served; performs proficiency testing in an accurate manner.
