Aqovia, a UK-based technology company specializing in AI, data-driven solutions, and bespoke software development, is seeking an experienced IT Support Manager to join its Digital Solutions & Technology team. This role involves managing IT operations and support for a hybrid workforce of up to 80 employees using both PC and Mac platforms. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering Aqovia’s technical roadmap and supporting innovative projects across diverse sectors including financial services, healthcare, infrastructure management, sustainability, education, and business intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
Hardware Ordering and Procurement: Work closely with HR and Recruitment teams to evaluate hardware requirements for new and existing staff. Manage relationships with vendors, negotiate bulk purchase agreements, and oversee the IT equipment budget to ensure cost efficiency.
Configuration and Provisioning: Install operating systems and software according to company standards. Set up user accounts and system access while maintaining compliance with internal IT policies and data protection regulations.
Servicing, Repairs & Troubleshooting: Quickly diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues. Conduct routine maintenance, coordinate warranty and repair services with external providers, and provide hands-on support both remotely and onsite to minimize downtime.
Logistics Management: Organize delivery and setup of equipment for new hires. Manage secure return, refurbishment, and disposal of hardware from departing employees, ensuring data is securely deleted and recycling is environmentally responsible.
Help Desk and User Support: Implement and maintain a ticketing system to track and resolve IT support requests efficiently. Deliver excellent customer service while meeting response and resolution time targets.
Asset and Licence Management: Keep an accurate inventory of IT assets, monitor device lifecycles, and plan for timely upgrades or replacements. Manage subscription-based software licenses, ensuring payments and renewals are handled promptly and cost-effectively.
Documentation and Compliance: Maintain detailed records of IT processes, configurations, and asset histories. Update IT policy documents and user guides regularly to ensure adherence to GDPR and other relevant data protection laws.
Bid and Project Support: Identify relevant bid opportunities, monitor outcomes, and assist in preparing bid responses and proposals with input from technical and business teams. Maintain bid collateral and coordinate handover to the project response manager as needed.
Required Qualifications
A degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience is essential. Candidates should have strong knowledge of Google Workspace, Microsoft Office 365, and common collaboration tools. Experience in setting up and managing ticketing systems is required, along with excellent troubleshooting, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities. Strong business communication and interpersonal skills are necessary, as is proven experience in IT support, procurement, and license management. A customer-service-oriented mindset and proactive approach to issue resolution are important. Additionally, a good understanding of networking, security, and device management principles is expected.
