What the first 30-60-90 days in the job will look like?
Within 30 days you will:
Attend and graduate from our company-wide on boarding process along with detailed orientation program where you will learn Jazz’s values, business, and products.
Meet with the C&RA team to understand the strategy of the function in line with CEO strategy and company road map.
Meet with internal stakeholders in Finance, Customer Care, Legal and Technology.
Meet with external stakeholders like Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, Link Direct International (LDI) and Cellular Mobile Operators(CMO).
Will start coordinating with Regulatory bodies for efficient conduct of QoS surveys, Quality of Service assurance and Network Interference complaints.
Will start effectively Managing & having resolution of consumer complaints received from Consumer Protection Directorate, PTA HQ (on CMS portal as well as through E-mails and letters).
Handle all regulatory matters related to sale of SIMs and Customers’ documentation.
Within 60 days, you will:
Be able to managing Jazz Licensing Affairs function in line with PTA SOPs and VEON guidelines
Be able to manager all regulatory compliance issues pertaining to mobile and fixed line business of PMCL, LINKdotNET Telecom and LINKdotNET Pakistan.
Be responsible to ensure fulfillment of all Licensing Obligations, including but not limited to:
o Rollout and QoS obligations.
o Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders to ensure expeditious resolution of external interference issues in Jazz spectrum.
o Resolution of consumer complaints received through PTA under Consumer Protection Regulations.
o Ensure timely submission of all reporting requirements as per the formats given by PTA.
o Swiftly handle all regulatory matters related to sale of SIMs and Customers’ documentation.
o Ensure timely payment of all Annual Regulatory Dues.
Able to manage all matters related to Grey Telephony (MSISDN blocking & restoration in coordination with PTA Enforcement Division and PMCL RA&FM department)
Able to manage and implement PTA's criteria for observing Heavy Callers on our network in the context of Grey Telephony and ensure submission of Heavy Callers’ Data to Vigilance Directorate on regular basis.
Ensure execution and timely blocking/ restoration of Websites as per PTA instructions.
Manage the implementation of PTA allocated short codes in PMCL Network and reconciliation/identification of all commercial short codes of PMCL in line with PTA‘s audit process for Annual Numbering Return.
Manage the coordination with PTA for whitelisting of IPs (video conference, Call Centers and EVPN registration) of corporate customers.
Within 90 days to onwards you will:
Ensuring through Technical teams that QoS standard /KPI’s are met in accordance with license obligations, conditions.
Liaison with PTA/FAB for removal of Jammers to ensure QoS is in accordance with license obligations and applicable regulations.
Liaison with Jazz Technology Team, PTA and FAB to ensure timely approval of BTS site/Microwave links.
Coordinate with PTA and internal teams to ensure network closure as per GoP requirements.
Establish and maintain positive relationship with relevant authorities and industry.
Support all regulatory audits to ensure that PTA’s standards on products/processes are met.
Assist internal teams over PTA’s audits to safeguard Jazz business interests and ensure compliance is submitted within timeline communicated from PTA.
Accomplish special regulatory projects as assigned by Line Manager from time to time

A bit about us
Regulatory & Interconnect Affairs Department is the custodian of all communication license issued to Pakistan Mobile Communications Limited and is responsible for the compliance of these licenses in accordance with the Act, Rules and Regulations. This department comprises of three sub-functions naming:
· Licensing Affairs: Function is mainly responsible for the compliance of all licenses. Licensing affairs team is also responsible for all regulatory payments, Merger compliance, approvals of new packages, Quality of Service audits and resolution of customer complaints within defined timelines.
· Regulatory Affairs: Function is responsible to work on consultation processes of new telecom rules, regulations, frameworks and policies with the objective of meeting Jazz business needs. Team is responsible to lead regulatory strategic projects like, new/renew of licenses, approval of new products, services and BTS sites from relevant Regulatory bodies. Liaison and bidding on Universal Service Fund subsidy projects comes under the domain of regulatory affairs team as well.
· Interconnect Affairs: Function is managing commercial arrangements and relationships for national and international gateways, to ensure competitive interconnection availability. The domain is also responsible for Interfacing with the Interconnect billing and settlements team to ensure all rates are invoiced and settled correctly within defined timelines.
