Overview:

Jhpiego is an international, non-profit health organization affiliated with The Johns Hopkins University. We are seeking applications from experienced professionals for the following Peshawar-based positions for a USAID- funded Project working on Integrated Health Systems Strengthening and Service Delivery in Pakistan.

The position will assist and support to technical team in implementing training and capacity building activities related to MNCH/FP service delivery program. He/She will work closely with Senior Manager, Training Specialist who is responsible for the designing and implementation of MNCH/FP related service delivery activities for the project; and the project implementation teams to ensure that project resources are applied appropriately.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Master Trainer need good analytical and planning skills to assess training needs and develop programs to meet those needs. Trainer must also evaluate the competency levels of individual trainees so that they can work with trainees with different knowledge and skill levels.
  • Master Trainer must have excellent presentation skills to impart trainings. They must also have comprehensive knowledge of the topic they are discussing so that they can communicate the correct information and handle any questions from trainees. If they are providing instruction in skills, trainer must be competent to demonstrate the skill themselves. Trainer require good interpersonal and observational skills so that they can assess trainees’ understanding and progress, and make any necessary adjustments to the program.
  • Trainer must have the administrative skills to manage training programs. They evaluate the outcomes of training sessions and maintain records of trainees’ progress and achievements. They must also monitor training costs against budgets and ensure they make the most efficient use of organizational resources.
  • Undertake training need assessment
  • Design and implement training follow up mechanism and ensure need based support
  • Write reports according to the project and donor requirements
  • Produce success stories/case studies and share with communication Officer through concerned line Manager.
  • Maintain updated record of Trainings.
  • Submit monthly, weekly and daily work plan to the concerned Line manager on regular basis.

Required Qualifications:

  • MBBS and Masters in Public Health, Health Professions or equivalent
  • At least five years of experience in and conducting training programs for facility and community based healthcare providers in public and private sectors.
  • Previous experience of trainer in MNCH, family planning, WASH and Nutrition 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively 
  • Strong oral and written English and Urdu language communication skills required.
  • Strong report writing skills 
  • Should be able to communicate in local language 
  • Position requires travelling upto 50%

By 2017, thousands of deaths of women, newborn babies and infants will have been prevented as a result of the USAID/Pakistan MCH Program. USAID/Pakistan has, in cooperation with the USAID Office of Inspector General, established the Anti-Fraud Hotline to provide an avenue for the reporting of fraud, waste, and abuse which may be associated with USAID funded projects in Pakistan.
