The Safety & Security Officer will oversee/ ensure the safety & security features for Jhpiego Corporation at field office of Quetta. S/he will ensure to implement organizational Safety & Security protocols mainly with an aim to minimize potential risks to all Staff, Visitors, Guests & STTA etc and will ensure their requisite safety/ security, within his/her area of responsibility (AOR). Specific responsibilities will include:-
Responsibilities:
- Ensure application of the Security & Safety Management Plan at Jhpiego/ IPs (if any) field Offices’ at KPK in close consultation of Safety, Security & Liaison Manager.
- Maintaining liaison/coordination with Safety, Security & Liaison Manager mainly to ensure implementation of safety & security policies/ procedures.
- Ensuring that all field based staff members, visitors & guests at KPK are well aware plus compliant to Jhpiego’s safety and security protocols.
- S/he will monitor the Travel Tracks of all related field based staff members, visitors, guests, STTAs at KPK etc.
- Ensure physical provisions of field security cover to national and international staff on required basis or under dire circumstances.
- S/ he will manage security staff ( if any ) deployed at field office premises of KPK.
- S/he will ensure serviceability/ monitoring of all Safety & Security equipment deployed at various points in field offices, but in close coordination of related departments.
- S/he will assist in the acquisition of all necessary requirements regarding Public Relations/ Government / Pakistan Army etc. for obtaining travel/ other NOCs from GOP/ Pakistan Army/ Provincial Government and different related district offices.
- Maintaining an updated internal security communication tree of District based teams, which will then be practiced once in every two months.
- S/he will prepare and implement Emergency Evacuation Plan(s) for field team (s) in KPK.
- In the absence of Safety, Security & Liaison Manager, S/he will take care of safety/ security protocols within KPK Province & will ensure coordination with other departments of Jhpiego Pakistan.
- Any other task assigned by Safety, Security & Liaison Manager
Require Qualification & Experience:
- Minimum of 2 – 5 years of experience in the field of Safety & Security.
- Should have detailed knowledge related to ground realities of the Province.
- Bachelor/ Graduate Degree in relevant or another subject.
- Working experience with an International NGO or UN agencies will be preferred.
- Experience in conduct of training and capacity building for team member.
- Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, other database systems.
- Willingness to travel on as & when required biases.
- Strong Interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English, Urdu, Pashtoo and other local language(s)

Jhpiego has been working in Pakistan since 1997 when it provided technical assistance under a series of maternal and reproductive health projects funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). One of the Project aims in Pakistan is to improve the quality of public and private sector health services. Healthcare providers will be trained; health facilities renovated and services will be expanded and improved. We also will improve access of women and children to health services especially the poor and those who do not or cannot go for health care, by educating communities and families and setting up better transport and communications systems. By 2017, thousands of deaths of women, newborn babies and infants will have been prevented as a result of the USAID/Pakistan MCH Program. USAID/Pakistan has, in cooperation with the USAID Office of Inspector General, established the Anti-Fraud Hotline to provide an avenue for the reporting of fraud, waste, and abuse which may be associated with USAID funded projects in Pakistan.
