The MIS Specialist will work in close collaboration with the Assistant Manage MIS to develop Training Management System and support in different database development and cleaning database. He/she will also be responsible to develop user manual guide.

Responsibilities:

  • Producing detailed specifications and writing the program code
  • Testing the product in controlled real situations before going to live
  • Make sure security measures are in place to control access
  • Working with management to maintain and prioritize the software defects database.
  • Any development activity assign by supervisor.
  • Provides complex problem resolution, root cause analysis and technical support for delivery systems. 
  • Administers user system access and establishes safeguards to protect information to meet security requirements. 
  • Oversees activities to monitor system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning. Mentors, leads and trains others. 
  • Contribute to documentation of processes and procedures
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor

Deliverables:

  • Develop Training Management System infrastructure prior to development of MIS/data base.
  • Develop Training Management System and database as per the program’s requirements and interface hand-held devices with MIS.
  • Pre-test the MIS, both at Head Office and field level, and update accordingly.
  • Draft a detailed document/manual for the user’s guidance.
  • Manage the trouble shooting in MIS/data in timely fashion.
  • Provide support to MIS Lead person in on-going Databases wherever required his/her role.
  • Consultant should abide Jhpiego’s HR policies including working days and hours. Hence, payment will be issued on monthly basis in accordance to deliverables met by consultant. MIS lead person will verify the consultant’s deliverables

Required Qualification/Experience/Skills:

  • Graduate or equivalent degree in Computer Sciences. Master degree will be preferred
  • Minimum 3 year of hands on experience in ASP .Net, MVC ASP.NET/MS-SQL.
  • Development experience using extensible web authoring tools
  • Experience developing and implementing open source software projects
  • The candidate must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with an ability to adhere to strict deadlines. Must be able to work independently and respond to queries in a timely manner.

Jhpiego develops strategies to help countries care for themselves by training competent health care workers, strengthening health systems and improving the delivery of care. Jhpiego has been working in Pakistan since 1997 when it provided technical assistance under a series of maternal and reproductive health projects funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). One of the Project aims in Pakistan is to improve the quality of public and private sector health services. Healthcare providers will be trained; health facilities renovated and services will be expanded and improved. We also will improve access of women and children to health services especially the poor and those who do not or cannot go for health care, by educating communities and families and setting up better transport and communications systems. By 2017, thousands of deaths of women, newborn babies and infants will have been prevented as a result of the USAID/Pakistan MCH Program. USAID/Pakistan has, in cooperation with the USAID Office of Inspector General, established the Anti-Fraud Hotline to provide an avenue for the reporting of fraud, waste, and abuse which may be associated with USAID funded projects in Pakistan. Complaints are handled with complete confidentiality and individuals are encouraged to report when corruption, fraud, waste or abuse may exit in the USAID/Pakistan projects.
