An International Non-Government Organization (INGO)working on health Systems Strengthening and Service Delivery is seeking applications from the experience professionals for the below positions based at Karachi office in Sindh.

Time Lines:           January, 2019 to March, 2020.

Position Summary

In Karachi, about 60% of the population lives in various informal settlements. There is high Maternal, Neonatal and child mortality and morbidity rate, low immunization and low vaccinations. Thus, the role of policymakers is emphasized to strategize for the inclusion of these people in national health plans and to develop health infrastructure near these communities. Furthermore, there is a strong need to increase awareness of the population about hygiene practices, importance of immunization, FP and importance of utilizing appropriate health care services. The INGO aims to develop and support innovative, cost – effective, integrated services in urban slums of Karachi to strengthen MNCH services.

 

This position requires close coordination with the provincial policy makers and program managers of vertical programs, which includes overseeing, managing and effectively coordinating program activities at the provincial and district levels. Close coordination with FM and district team for the smooth implementation of program activities. The position will work very closely and report to the Senior Advisor Governance and Leadership.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

1.       Coordinate with district health and population welfare departments for the implementation of Urban Health Clinic strategy;

2.       Facilitate the DoH and PWD in identification of HCE for UHC at Karachi

3.       Establish and maintain close coordination with technical team at DHO office and focal persons of all vertical programs as well as other development partners working in the Karachi;

4.       Monitor implementation of Urban Health Clinic activities under project activities

5.       Responsible for providing technical assistance to health teams/M&E cell on the analysis of UHC data and determining way forward to address gaps;

6.       Responsible for field monitoring and validation of project activities which includes assisting with the implementation of DHIS, LHW-MIS, and other MIS systems.

7.       Ensure Project leadership has sufficient project data for decision making and performance improvement.

8.       Maintain coordination with partners to ensure smooth information flow on a regular basis.

9.       Assist the DoH with the institutionalization of trainings developed by MCH partners.

10.   Participate in meetings at the provincial and district level to present an organizational point of view. 

11.   Prepare weekly and quarterly reports related to project activities.

12.   Maintain appropriate documentation of meetings, correspondence, and other material related to provincial level activities

13.   Supervise the field managers for the timely implementation of project activities

14.   Participate in relevant project activities of Consortium partners.

15.   Maintain close coordination and provide technical support to Islamabad office

16.   Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports related to the district activities & UHC  and submit to supervisor;

17.   Maintain appropriate documentation of various meetings, correspondence, and other material related to UHC and various activities at district level.

18.   Provide technical and administrative support to FM

19.   Any other relevant task assigned by the supervisor.

 

Qualification, Experience and Required Skills

1.       Master’s in Public Health or equivalent Degree

2.       Minimum of seven years of work experience in public health, preferably with an international organization.

3.       Experience working closely with the DoH, GoS and coordinating with the private sector is required.

4.       Substantial experience in managing health programs with a minimum of three years.

5.       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

6.       Proficient in computer and having excellent professional report writing skills.
