KBM is a reputable UK-based Chartered Certified Accountants firm headquartered in London, offering a wide range of services including Accountancy, Taxation, Consultancy, Payroll, and Automotive financial solutions to clients across the UK. As part of its international expansion, KBM has established an office in Lahore, Pakistan. The firm is currently looking to hire an Experienced Accountant to join the Lahore team. This role involves managing and supporting accounting activities related to the UK office, ensuring compliance with UK standards while leading a team of bookkeepers.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage a team of bookkeepers, ensuring their work meets quality standards and deadlines. Deliver accurate and timely financial information to senior management and collaborate closely with departments such as accounts, payroll, and tax. Foster strong working relationships across the practice to promote effective teamwork between bookkeeping and other departments. Work alongside the Director to identify and implement process improvements aimed at increasing efficiency and output quality. Review VAT returns, bookkeeping files, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations. Address and resolve internal and external queries arising from bookkeeping reviews promptly. Examine detailed management accounts to verify their accuracy. Provide training, guidance, and development opportunities to the bookkeeping team to enhance their skills. Monitor and manage schedules to guarantee timely delivery of bookkeeping and management accounts. Prepare accounts in accordance with FRS 102 1A and FRS 105 standards. Produce draft tax computations and provisions for inclusion in the accounts. Perform additional or ad hoc duties as required to support the business. Maintain comprehensive VAT knowledge, including Cash Accounting, Invoice Accounting, Partial Exemption, Flat Rate Scheme, Margin Scheme, Export/Import VAT and Duty, and Property Rules.

Solid management accounting expertise. Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero and Sage Line 50. Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel. Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
Experience working with UK-based VAT and accounts bookkeeping, ideally with at least one year of relevant experience. Familiarity with QuickBooks is advantageous but not mandatory. Knowledge of additional accounting software is considered a plus.
