Women Development Department of Sindh Government in cooperation with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is implementing a project titled “Improvement of Livelihoods and Well-being of Female Home-Based Workers (FHBWs) in the Informal Economic Sector in Sindh Province”.

The Project aims at developing a comprehensive package to uplift the livelihoods and well-being of FHBWs and their families.

The package has 3 components to support FHBWs including promoting life skill management, income generation and financial access.

The Project is seeking a candidate who fill the following post for the financial access component.

The financial access component will include three types of activities for the target beneficiaries a) financial literacy training, b) saving promotion, and c) new/improved service delivery.

Kaihatsu Management Consulting (KMC), a Japanese consulting company, is assigned as a managing and coordinating body of the Project and the financial access coordinator will be working under supervision of KMC.

    Frequent travel and work at WDD Sukkar office is expected.

  4. Working hour

9:00 -17:00 from Monday to Friday (to be confirmed and negotiable)

(Holidays include Saturday, Sundays and National holidays of Pakistan)

Roles and responsibilities

Below tasks are carried out by the financial access coordinator under the guidance of the Project experts (KMC consultants) in charge of financial access in Sukkar and Karachi.

  1. Identify financial institution(s) who is willing to cooperate and conduct the project activities such as providing financial literacy training (how to open bank account, how to save and get credit etc) and saving promotion activity with the Project, and act as a facilitator to implement activities with them.

  2. Make necessary adjustments to the financial literacy training materials provided by the partner financial institutions and compile them for sustainable use for the Project in local language.

  3. Assist the project experts and coordinator of Like Skill Management component and provide technical inputs to develop training modules for saving promotion (To promote understanding benefit of savings).

  4. Assist the project experts and the staff of the partner organizations (SRSP and WDFP) to manage and conduct the trainings and saving promotional activities.

  5. Coordinate and manage to conduct financial needs survey of the target beneficiaries in cooperation with a partner organization (To be determined. It will be a digital finance company.) Based on the survey result, assist staff of the partner organization to develop new product/service or adjust the existing service which can better serve FHBWs.

  6. Assist the project experts for interviewing and collecting information from beneficiaries and any relevant organizations.

  7. Interpretation and translation of local language into English and vice versa.

  8. Keep good communication with relevant organizations and team members.

  9. Keep record and take meeting minutes as requested by the Project experts.

  10. Attend meetings, collecting information and negotiating with relevant individuals and organizations required for project implementation in the field of financial access, and utilize them into the project activities. Compile necessary reports to share with the team.

  11. Any other tasks the employer consider necessary for the project implementation.
