“The Project for Improvement of Livelihoods and Well-being of Female Home Based Workers in the Informal Economic Sector in Sindh Province” funded by JICA and Sindh Government aims at developing a comprehensive package to uplift the livelihoods and well-being of Female Home Based Workers and their families. The package has 3 components including life skill management, income generation and financial access. The Project is seeking a candidate who fill the following post for the project coordinator in Sukkur.
1. Title of the Position
Project Coordinator
2. Period
From January 2019 to 30 September 2019 (Tentative, Initial Contract)
(Initial 2 months will be probational period.)
3. Office
Women Development Department (WDD), Government of Sindh in Sukkur
4. Working hour
9:00 -17:00 from Monday to Friday
(Holidays include Saturday, Sundays and National holidays of Pakistan)
5. Roles and responsibilities
- Coordination with counterpart officials of WDD, Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) and any other organizations related to project management and implementation.
- Monitoring project activities in Sukkur and providing necessary assistance as well as coordination for smooth implementation.
- Coordination and support for holding official meetings of the Project including monthly coordination meetings at Pilot Project Coordination Committee (PPCC).
- Assisting WDD and PPCC to compile monitoring sheets of the Project.
- Attending meetings, collecting information and negotiating with relevant individuals and organizations required for project implementation.
- Make necessary reports to share among the Project team members
- Interpretation and translation of local language into English, when necessary.
- Accounting work for the Project activities mainly in Sukkur. The project coordinator will perform accounting work according to the rules prescribed by JICA and the Project team.
- Procurement of equipment and services required for the Project activities mainly in Sukkur
- Logistic arrangement including vehicle, security personnel, accommodation, air tickets for the Project team required for the Project activities
- Coordination and logistic arrangement including meeting appointments, preparation of meetings, workshops, drafting letters and so on.
- Keep updating security information in and around Sukkur to share among the Project team members
- Maintain equipment, materials, offices and documents in good order
- Keeping good communication with the Project team in Karachi for coordination
- Any other tasks the Employer consider necessary for the Project implementation
6. Required Qualifications and Experience
A minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in project implementation and coordination including accounting and logistic works
- Sound ability in writing and drafting of reports
- Ability to manage accounting and logistic works
- Having a good skills of MS office including excel and word as well as e-mail and internet
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
- Good negotiation skills
- Ability to manage and organize work by oneself and as a team member
- Fluency in English and Sindhi both speaking and writing is required.
