My City Hospital, a trust-based multi-specialty healthcare facility, is committed to delivering comprehensive medical services with a strong focus on quality care and humanitarian values. We are currently looking for a dedicated and passionate Lab Technician/Technologist to join our Laboratory Department on a rotational shift basis. This role plays a vital part in supporting patient diagnosis and treatment by providing accurate and timely medical laboratory services within a collaborative healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Sample Preparation and Analysis: Collect, prepare, and process biological specimens such as blood, tissue, and other fluids. Conduct routine laboratory tests using various instruments, ensuring precision and reliability in all results.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate laboratory instruments including microscopes and centrifuges. Perform regular calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance to guarantee optimal functionality. Maintain cleanliness and organization within the laboratory space.
- Data Management and Reporting: Accurately document test data and organize records systematically. Analyze laboratory results and prepare comprehensive reports, summaries, and presentations. Effectively communicate findings to medical and research teams.
- Safety and Compliance: Follow strict safety protocols when handling chemicals and biological materials. Ensure adherence to all regulatory standards to maintain a safe and compliant laboratory environment.
- Stock Management: Oversee inventory control by ordering and stocking laboratory supplies and reagents. Maintain precise records of stock levels to avoid shortages or excess.
- Other Duties: Assist in research projects and experimental procedures as required. Perform administrative tasks such as maintaining lab notebooks and preparing necessary documentation. Provide technical support to laboratory staff when needed.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Laboratory Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or an equivalent medical degree. Alternatively, a Laboratory Technician Diploma from a recognized university or an institution accredited by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
- Licensure/Certification: Possession of a valid medical license to practice within the relevant jurisdiction is mandatory.
- Experience: At least three years of professional experience in a relevant laboratory setting.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with a patient-focused approach. Excellent diagnostic and clinical judgment skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Effective time management and organizational capabilities. Proficiency in manual chemistry calculations is essential.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Preference will be given to candidates residing in the Mehmoodabad, Azam Town, or Baloch Colony areas. This is a part-time contract position requiring 8 to 12 hours of work per day, six days a week, for a duration of 12 months. The role demands physical presence at the hospital location. Compensation ranges from Rs 22,000 to Rs 30,000 per month.
