We are seeking a motivated, self-directed merchandiser who is focused on a positive customer experience. In this position, you will be in charge of product, displays, and execution of displays and goods. Creative, successful merchandisers will engage customers and encourage sales through eye-catching campaigns.
Merchandiser Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze market trends, needs of stores/distributors, customer patterns, and industry competition to enhance sales
- Develop strategies to highlight promotions, price changes, clearance, and holiday/seasonal needs
- Plan and collaborate with vendors and distributors to ensure prices and quantities
- Track inventory; stock and restock merchandise
- Anticipate and maximize customer interest, reaction, and expectations
- Analyze target demographics, regional needs, and market size
- Collaborate with financial team to plan and ensure budget needs; forecast sales and profits
- Maintain solid relationships between team members, vendors, channel partners, and distributors
- Collaborate with plan-o-gram teams to create, build, and display merchandise
- Implement plan-o-grams; take photos of process for comparison
- Maximize profitability with engaging signage and campaigns
- Create campaigns that are creative and on-trend
- Resolve issues presented by audits and maintain standards set in contract agreements
- Merchandiser Requirements and Qualifications
- High school degree; bachelors degree in retail, marketing, business, or related field preferred
- Previous experience in merchandising or related field
- Computer skills; may include entering and tracking merchandise, scheduling with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Strict adherence to company philosophy/mission statement/sales goals
- Extensive knowledge of the brand and product preferred
- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 25-30 pounds
- Creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge
- Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and idea
