The Reading teacher will carry out the district wide plan to improve the reading achievement of all students
Responsibilities:
- Conducting assessments to determine students reading levels
- Creating reading plans to match student ability and learning styles
- Guiding children through reading and writing activities to help them overcome obstacles to literacy
- Helping students read fluently, comprehend what they're reading, and train them in phonetics, spelling, grammar vocabulary and memorization.
- Participates in regular professional development to improve personal knowledge and skills
- Consulting with parents and teachers to recommend at home strategies to improve reading skills
- Perform other related work as required
