Job Description

Job Purpose :

The Senior Vice Principal reports directly to the Principal and coordinates in directing, planningand developing the academic and extracurricular activities of the respective school. The SeniorVice Principal primarily oversees the teachers, staff and students on a routine basis and is directlyinvolved with the parental body for student related matters.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  •  Develop and implement policies, programs and curriculum activities in a manner that promotes the educational development of each student and the professional growth of the staff members.
  •  Ensure smooth and effective running of the school operations as well as foster a healthy and safe work environment. Work closely with the Academic Coordinators and Head of Departments for all academic tasks.
  • Define and disseminate information about school disciplinary policies and procedures to parents, students, staff and community with the help of communications department.
  • Conceptualize the goals and objectives of the school and plan accordingly to ensure that procedures and schedules are implemented to carry out the complete school program.
  • Ensure that the school program is compatible with the legal, financial and organizational structure of the school system. Define the responsibilities and accountability of the staff members and develop plans for interpreting the school program to the community.
  • Ensure that instructional objectives for a given subject and/or classroom are developed; involve the faculty in the development of specific curricular objectives to meet the needs of the school program.
  • Coordinate with other campuses on a regular basis to ensure consistent running of the school program. 
  • Promote and maintain open communication and establish an environment where students can develop self-discipline. Respect the dignity and worth of staff members, students and comply with established lines of authority.
  • Conduct orientation, assist new staff and students and provide opportunities for their input in the school program.
  • Work closely with the HR department for recruitment/termination of staff members.
  • Conduct primary interviews of prospective candidates and liaison with the coordinators for hiring.
  • Liaison with the Accounts department for annual budgets.
  • Resolve all student and parental queries as required and expected.
  • Hold staff meetings regularly to keep abreast with the demands of academics, parents and students.
  • Report/Analyze any special needs of children and refer them to the school Psychologist and inform the Principal accordingly.
