Job Description
Our British owned and managed SEO agency is looking to acquire a senior PHP/Wordpress developer. The company is focused on seo and digital marketing and we require an in-house web developer. The position requires a combination of programming skills (PHP, Ruby on Rails, HTML5, CSS3 and Javascript) and aesthetics (understanding of element sizing, spacing, arrangement and typography). Having a strong understanding of industry best practices is highly preferred. The ideal candidate should have a comprehensive understanding of the entire development cycle: design, development and deployment. We require someone with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience and based in Lahore.
Responsibilities
- Converting PSD design into a working theme and plugin
- Maintenance and performance optimization of existing Wordpress based platforms
- Maintenance and performance optimization of existing Shopify based platforms
- Ensuring high-performance and availability of the platforms at all times
- Management of all technical aspects of content management platforms
- Troubleshooting and debugging coding errors and cleaning up HTML/CSS on existing pages
- Designing and implementing new features and functionality
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to write clean, solid, scalable code
- Knowledge of proficient understanding of web mark-up, especially HTML5 and CSS3
- Performance Optimization in Wordpress
- Ability to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
- Understanding of client side scripting, JS frameworks, Incl JQuery
- Experience with setting up Varnish and cache layers
- Experience with responsive and adaptive design strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of PHP back-end development
- Strong understanding of RoR back-end development will be considered bonus in CV
- In-depth knowledge of object-oriented PHP and Laravel 5.
- Understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, ajax
- Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
- Knowledge of testing across multiple browsers, platforms and devices
- Expertise to configure htaccess
- Can do benchmark pingdom
- Having great experience in optimizing Google Speed Insight and Gtmetrix
