The MIPS Specialist will be responsible for managing the complete MIPS reporting process for eligible providers to ensure compliance with CMS quality measures. This role involves collecting, validating, and submitting data aligned with MIPS performance metrics and guidelines. The candidate will generate comprehensive performance reports that provide insights to management and support audits and compliance-related tasks. Staying current with evolving CMS policies and MIPS regulations is critical to maintaining accuracy and effectiveness in reporting. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, experience working with EHR/EMR systems, and the ability to collaborate across teams.
Although this position does not involve managing a team, it requires independent initiative and the capacity to support continuous improvements in provider performance scores. Familiarity with US healthcare programs such as MACRA and QPP is preferred, and working within a professional, supportive work environment aims to help the candidate grow their expertise and contribute significantly to the organizations healthcare billing operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the full cycle of MIPS reporting for all eligible healthcare providers to ensure timely and accurate data submission.
- Ensure strict adherence to CMS guidelines and quality measures, maintaining compliance with Medicare and other federal regulations.
- Collect, validate, and analyze healthcare data related to MIPS quality measures to improve reporting accuracy and provider performance.
- Monitor provider performance with respect to MIPS scoring and recommend targeted improvements to optimize incentive payments.
- Collaborate effectively with billing and credentialing teams to synchronize data and streamline reporting processes.
- Stay continuously updated with changes and updates in CMS policies, MIPS regulations, and related healthcare quality programs to maintain compliance and reporting accuracy.
- Generate detailed performance reports, including data insights, for senior management to support strategic decision-making.
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing necessary documentation and ensuring data integrity.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems to extract and compile data required for MIPS submission.
- Communicate complex regulatory and reporting information clearly to non-technical stakeholders, enhancing understanding and collaboration.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to build expertise in healthcare quality reporting standards and medical billing best practices.
- Ensure all MIPS-related activities meet organizational standards and timelines, contributing positively to the companys reputation in the US healthcare market.
