• To prepare and implement well-structured and progressive coaching programs ensuring a high quality, enjoyable coaching experience centered on the needs of the participants.
  • Discuss tactics and strategy with head of departmentin performing a variety of duties related to the planning, organizing and coaching of the team.
  • To take positive steps to identify and overcome barriers to participation amongst young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, prioritizing access and inclusion. 
  • To assist in identifying talented young people and encouraging further development through coaching.
  • To analyze individual and team performance and provide leadership and instruction in areas of deficiency as required.
  • To coordinate regularly with the Sports Supervisor for scheduling, facility availability and problems faced.
  • To research tactical and statistical data of opponent teams and prepare game plans accordingly.
  • To conduct fair trials annually, free of bias to provide equal opportunity to prospective and existing team players.
  • To accompany LUMS team and represent LUMS at all tournaments and in professional, civic, charity, and alumni events.
  • Report for duty on time.
  • Always in an appropriate sports attire during coaching session.
  • Use polite language with everyone.
  • The Coach cannot take an independent decision related to financial aspects, for that the HOD’s approval is a pre–requisite.

Note: The Coach is authorized fully to select his / her team without any kind of pressure from anybody. In case of any interference with his/her work, the Coach must directly report to Sports Officer/Supervisor & HoD.

Work Schedule:

  • This is a part time contractual position and you will be expected to come for 4 hours per day six days a week.
  • Hours may vary depending upon student classes and event schedules. 
  • Flexibility & commitment is a must.

Experience:

  • Experience of coaching in a wide range of environments including schools, club and university level.
  • Experience of developing university, school/club links.
  • Experience of monitoring and evaluation impact of sessions/programs.

Skills:

  • Ability to develop and implement high quality, varied and creative coaching sessions focusing on a young person-centered approach.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and encourage young people through sport.
  • Ability to adapt sessions appropriately dependent on the needs of young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate with people at all levels.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
