Position Purpose:

To create, develop and edit content for diverse context and platforms, predominantly advertising and marketing but also other areas related to a university.The writer will be responsible for creating original content for websites, newsletters, press releases, blogs, reports, articles and advertising and marketing materials. The writer will also create content on behalf of the LUMS leadership and management for various speaking and writing platforms.

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Exceptional on developing, refining and editing content across diverse platforms and any writing context
  • Research, write and edit content including but not limited to print and online articles, newsletters, videos, webinars, infographics, white papers, case  studies, blog posts, Website content and more
  • Develop print, electronic and web communication to support university goals and client needs (schools, departments etc.)
  • A journalist and storyteller; convert academic content into a marketing communication across various marketing and publicity forums e.g. website, print, social media, Advertisements etc. Have a creative and marketing eye to extract a story from a seemingly ordinary content
  • Research and gather information for departmental and university communications
  • Interview subject matter experts on a variety of topics and translate that information into captivating and concrete storytelling for target objectives
  • Deep understanding of client servicing and needs. Be able to cultivate strong relations with Schools and Departments to deliver University and stakeholder objectives
  • Collaborate with design, digital and marketing teams to develop compelling content for diverse needs and platforms
  • Think strategically on the university and its marketing content requirements and work with Marketing & Communication teams to develop relevant and effective content plans for   target audience and internal clients

  Skills: 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects while meeting demanding deadlines and producing high quality work
  • Very strong reading, writing, editing and transcription skills
