Technical Safety Officer ensures planning, implementing and overseeing occupational safety of Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering (SBASSE) complex including facility management, procurement and operations. The main duty is to ensure that the school adheres to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines and follows safe workplace practices.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures;
- Initiate and organize OHS training of faculty, staff and students;
- Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues of non-conformity;
- Oversee installations, maintenance and waste management of laboratory facilities and waste processing (collection, storage, treatment and disposal);
- Record and investigate safety related incidents to determine causes and carry out improvements;
- Practical knowhow of technical procurement matters;
- Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could harm employees' safety;
- Coordinate with procurement, F&E and other relevant LUMS department;
- Other tasks assigned by the Dean;
