Azure Expert

We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join our team to work on a corporate wide large program. This is a hands-on technical role where you will spend as much time building solutions as you do in designing and working with others to deliver them. You will be able to span the disciplines of Solution Architect and Developer, as comfortable with "nuts and bolts" as you are with "big picture".

Technical Spec - Essential

• Deep experience of Azure Integration Services, particularly Logic Apps but also Event Grid, Service Bus, Integration Accounts, API Management
• Strong developer background on the Microsoft platform
• Deep experience of PaaS, IaaS, SaaS
• Experience of hooking the PaaS environment into the existing IaaS setups
• Deep understanding of security within all layers in particular around PaaS
• Ability to design and deliver complex solutions that include messaging, data storage, APIs
• Ability to lead a development team and supervise the work of others
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Azure
• Ability to implement CI/CD solutions, ideally using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, but not essential
• Databases, esp SQL Server
• Strong .NET/C#
• Working knowledge of building containerised applications using Docker
• Knowledge of Agile development processes and practices
• Experience of setting up Devop environments

Technical Spec - Desirable

• NoSQL platforms such as MongoDB, Cassandra, ElasticSearch
• Knowledge of other cloud platforms, especially AWS
• Ability to design and build containerised infrastructure using Kubernetes, Helm
• Messaging systems such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus etc
• Good performance engineering skills
• Experience and possibly certification in Agile project management
• Scripting languages such as PSCore, BASH etc

Responsibilities:

Principal responsibilities but not limited to the following:

Adjust the below – de-consultantise it

• Act as technical authority and ‘evangelist’ for chosen subject matter
• Work alongside the business strategy team, supporting the development of the business-wide solutions and services strategy
• Work alongside the architecture team to identify, develop and promote chosen subject matter solutions within our customer base, owning the ongoing solutions portfolio
• Technically manage the lifecycle of chosen subject matter focussed solutions
• Provide a technical governance overlay for active projects
• Provide technical mentoring to Technical Consultants and Systems Engineers
• Build and maintain a strong relationship with the channel partners internal technical team
• Maintain high level of industry awareness through training and self-development; keep up-to-date with current and future technologies, products and strategies
• Undertake individual consultancy assignments, analysing customer requirements, gathering and analysing data and recommending solutions
• Ensure consultancy assignments are undertaken consistently and with quality
• Produce and update assignment documentation as required
• Ensure that hand over to relevant support organisation is successfully completed
