Position Summary:

The Field Researcher will support PERFORMs third-party monitoring of the Global Health Supply Chain-Procurement Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) activity as part of the larger USAID/Pakistan-funded Maternal Child Health (MCH) Program. The GHSC-PSM activity focuses on family planning (FP), Expanded Program of Immunization (EPI) and MCH commodity supply chains in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), with specific interventions in Baluchistan and Sindh. For this assignment, PERFORM is tasked with providing an independent perspective on GHSC-PSM activity performance.

This monitoring assignment will focus on verifying and validating key activities within GHSC-PSM and provide an independent perspective on activity performance. Under the supervision of the MSI PERFORMs the Performance Monitoring and Learning Advisor and direct guidance of the designated Assignment Manager, the Field Researcher will monitor activities and collect high quality data using the approved instruments and conduct field monitoring and verification visits, primarily in KP, as per the data collection plan.

Responsibilities:

·         Conduct key informant interviews (KIIs) with stakeholders which may include government officials and beneficiaries of the activities.

·         Take comprehensive and high-quality notes during interviews and transcribe and translate notes into well written English, in accordance with the required format.

·         Amend/improve translations in line with feedback provided by the monitoring team.

·         Complete the instrument tools and submit them weekly to the PERFORM assignment manager.

·         Conduct monitoring site visits in health facilities

·         Data entry within two days of data collection as per the instructions of the assignment manager.

·         Participate in data analysis, as and when required

·         Complete a daily online tracker to update the assignment manager of the work done.

·         Coordinate and liaise with the implementing partner’s activity managers, government counterparts and representatives of various activity committees.

·         Undertake other tasks required for the successful completion of the study.

·         Write briefs and summaries, when required

Qualifications:

·         At least a bachelor’s ’s degree in public health, social sciences, economy or a related field.

·         A minimum of three (3) years of experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection.

·         Verifiable involvement in at least three research studies as an enumerator of data collection efforts.

·         Excellent observation, analytical, and verbal communication skills.

·         Fluency in Urdu and Pashto.

·         Fluent in written and spoken English.

·         Experience with health projects is preferred but not a requirement.

·         Must be willing to travel throughout KP and Pakistan
