We are looking for an experienced Manager Accounts & Finance with a strong background in the media industry to join our team. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our financial operations. The successful candidate will oversee all financial activities and provide essential data that supports strategic decision-making, playing a vital role in maintaining the financial health of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards. Ensure timely filing of GST, TDS, income tax, and other statutory returns. Work closely with auditors during internal and statutory audits to maintain compliance and transparency.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process by monitoring budget versus actual performance. Develop financial forecasts and perform variance analysis to aid business planning and control.

Accounts Management: Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations. Manage daily accounting operations and supervise the finance team to guarantee accuracy and efficiency.

Cost Control & Analysis: Analyze operational costs to identify opportunities for savings and efficiency improvements. Deliver data-driven financial insights to support management’s decision-making process.

Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance and accounting professionals. Implement internal controls and best practices to enhance financial processes.

Media-Specific Tasks: Manage revenue accounting related to advertising sales, subscriptions, syndication, and partnerships. Collaborate closely with editorial, sales, and distribution teams to support cross-functional financial planning and coordination.

Required Qualifications

- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, preferably within the news or digital media sector.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, budgeting, and financial analysis tools.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/ERP software.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and effective communication abilities.

This is a full-time, in-person position based in Karachi. The monthly salary range is Rs175,000 to Rs185,000, reflecting the seniority and importance of this role within our organization.
