1. Main purpose of job
PR Executive
To aid the day-to-day PR Function for a M&C Saatchi World Services, Pakistan. To produce, deliver and support great communication in every area (print, social, TV, outreach) on behalf of our clients and to support the PR team to ensure timely delivery. The candidate should ideally have good contacts with the national media and have the ability to deal with the media on behalf of our clients.
2. Position in Organisation
The role reports to the Director of PR. The PR Executive will work closely with the Director of PR, Chief of Party, Head of PR and the Social Media Manager and will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with a number of external agencies and media outlets.
3. Scope of Job
To support the work of the PR Director and the Social Media Manager.
To be responsible for facilitating a culture of great communication across M&C Saatchi World Services Pakistan
Is responsible for managing relationships with all members of the media and other key stakeholders
Is responsible for managing relationships with third party suppliers and ensuring value for money
This role requires a brilliant communicator and ‘people person’ who understands what great communication looks and sounds like. They need to have excellent writing skills and have the ability to produce copy quickly to tight deadlines.
4. Qualifications and Skills Level
Educated to degree level or equivalent or media industry-backed qualification)
2-3 years experience of working in communications or journalism
Part 2: Duties and Key Responsibilities
To manage the weekly workflow to ensure timelines are adhered to and deadlines are met. This requires excellent organizational skills.
To support the PR team to ensure timely delivery of content.
To write and deliver weekly, monthly and annual media analysis reports for the client. The reports will provide insights and analysis as to the client media output.
To create content for the success of the client’s digital communications plan; optimising digital and mobile channels and technology for current and future client audiences.
Excellent storytelling is integral part of the role. The PR Executive will be responsible for researching, collecting, writing, drafting and editing stories (press releases, features, Op Eds, profiles etc) for dissemination in the national press.
To aid the seeding and placement of content amongst the press and electronic media.
To proactively manage top-level relationships with the media (print, broadcast and online) for proactive tactical and strategic PR campaigns.
To instigate and oversee stakeholder engagement events where required where the aim is to improve communications with third parties, for example Implementing Partners of the Client.
Manage consultants / suppliers in order to maximise value for M&C Saatchi World Services Pakistan.
Take part in research and support the pitching process for new business.
Adhere to and comply with organisational policies, procedures and guidelines at all times.
Part 3: Salary and Location
· Salary is negotiable depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
· Location: Karachi
· Travel: Overnight travel may be required occasionally.
