Mecas Engineering (Pvt) Ltd is seeking a detail-oriented and diligent Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in an accounts department, with a strong grasp of bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, invoice processing, and financial reporting. This role involves supporting accounting operations by maintaining accurate financial records, performing bank reconciliations, and assisting with payroll tasks. The Accounts Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient processing and management of financial data to support the companys financial health.
This position requires someone who is confident and possesses good communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors. Although this role does not involve managing a team, the successful candidate will take ownership of their tasks and contribute to the streamlined financial operations of Mecas Engineering. Proficiency in accounting and billing software, as well as Excel spreadsheets, is essential to manage general ledger entries, prepare financial statements, and support day-to-day accounting functions within our ERP systems environment.
Responsibilities
- Record and maintain accurate bookkeeping entries including accounts payable and receivable transactions.
- Process invoices promptly and ensure timely payments and collections to support cash flow management.
- Reconcile bank statements and financial data to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial reports and statements for senior management.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and enterprise resource planning systems like SAP or Oracle for daily financial operations.
- Manage expense tracking and support payroll processing by collecting and verifying payroll information.
- Maintain the general ledger by posting and balancing accounts following standard accounting practices.
- Use invoice management and billing software to handle payment processing and customer billing efficiently.
- Collaborate with various departments to facilitate smooth financial operations and resolve any invoicing or payment issues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations through consistent data entry and reporting accuracy.
- Prepare supporting documentation and assist auditors during internal and external audit processes.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all financial information and records.
- Continuously improve accounting processes and utilize Excel spreadsheets and bank reconciliation software to enhance data accuracy and reporting efficiency.
