Mechcraft is seeking a skilled CNC Milling Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in CNC programming with a strong focus on 3-axis milling operations. This role involves programming, setting up, and optimizing CNC milling machines to produce precision components according to engineering blueprints. The candidate will work closely with design and production teams to ensure efficient manufacturing processes, correct tooling selection, and accurate tool path execution.
As a CNC Milling Programmer at Mechcraft, you will manage a small team of one person, providing guidance and support to enhance productivity and maintain high-quality standards. Your responsibilities will include interpreting technical drawings, utilizing CAM software for programming, and optimizing machining operations. A solid understanding of CNC setup, tooling, and management is essential, along with the ability to troubleshoot machines and tooling issues. This role requires excellent management skills and the ability to work in a collaborative manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement CNC milling programs using G Code and CAM software such as Mastercam and Fusion 360.
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to accurately program multi-axis CNC milling machines, primarily 3-axis setups.
- Manage machine setup and tooling selection to optimize machining efficiency and accuracy.
- Oversee and provide guidance to a team member to ensure smooth machine operation and adherence to quality standards.
- Optimize tool paths to reduce cycle times while maintaining product integrity and precision.
- Coordinate the CAD to CAM workflow, ensuring proper data transfer and alignment between design and manufacturing.
- Conduct regular reviews and adjustments of CNC programs to improve machining processes and tool utilization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with CNC machinery, tooling, and programming errors promptly.
- Maintain documentation for CNC programs, tooling configurations, and machining parameters.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement process improvements and meet production deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all machining operations.
