Medecins du Monde (MDM) is an International Medical organization working in Pakistan since 1996 through MOU with Government of Pakistan and has (medical) programs for vulnerable populations in KPK (Hangu & DIK district) and Punjab.
General objectives of the function:
- Base Logistician will be responsible to manages all logistics related activities in a base, according to MdM standards, procedures, and protocols. The span of supervision, execution, and implementation goes from and is not limited to purchasing and supply to facilities maintenance and fleet management.
- Supervise the maintenance of Assets and Facilities (Offices, Vehicles, Medical Equipment, Cold Chain, Warehouse, Generators etc), through following up maintenance requests from different stakeholders, and through conceiving, supervising and diffusing Maintenance plans;
- Supervising and executing day to day purchasing activities, receiving and processing purchase requests through Mission Orders (MR). Managing the administrative and accounting procedures related to purchases: completing purchase orders, checking delivery notes and make sure that the purchasing is being done according to MdM protocols and coordinate with the Logistics Manager and Coordinator in the Capital if needed;
- Collecting Quotation, and conduct preliminary market research;
- Managing adequately and efficiently the logistic related records and documentation;
- Participate in the assessment and evaluation of suppliers;
- Drivers and Watchmen Supervision; Define routes and follow up transportation and freight in and out of the base;
- Water supply and waste management ;
- Inventory and warehousing management; Monitoring and updating inventory logs ;
- Communication management: contact lists, phones, and computers, internet connection establishment and maintenance;
- Implementation of the security rules and protocols; Monitoring security environment and report to coordination if necessary;
- Behavioral Flexibility, Analytical Thinking, Service Orientation, Complexity and Stress Management Teamwork and Cooperation, Creative Thinking, Cultural Awareness, and Apprehension,
- Good communication skills in Urdu & English
- Other languages are an added advantage
