General Objective of the position

To coordinate in assessing, designing, implementing and monitoring primary health care activities at health facilities managed by MDM and health education session for vulnerable communities. 

Main responsibilities

·         In charge of the management and the supervision of clinics in all the field areas of MDM, especially to the medical team leaders

·         Provide suggestions to improve the functioning of the MDM program and implement them when validated.

·         Assist the health team to organize the activities of MdM clinics following MDM standards

·         In charge of the management and the supervision of overall MdM clinics on the field in collaboration with Coordination

·         In collaboration with the meal coordinator, implement assessments in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa to identify gaps and needs

·         In collaboration with Field coordinator, plan, implement and supervise the social mobilization activities

·         To develop linkages with key stakeholders in targeted areas.

·         To design integrated implementation plans and then execute it with an effective monitoring mechanism.

Main activities

1.       Organization of the activities:

  • Participate in the recruitment and training of the medical staff
  • Assess the locations of MdM clinics in collaboration with the Meal Coordinator, MoH, and other NGOs
  • Inform the local authorities regarding MDM activities on different clinics locations
  • Create/update all the forms and documents needed for the MDM clinics
  • Supervise the planning of activities on the field and the allocation of staff according to the needs
  • Organize a weekly medical debriefing with the different medical teams
  • Collect, analyze and send the weekly data and reports
  • Organize regular meetings/briefings with all the medical staff

2.       Technical supervision on the field

  • In collaboration with the medical coordinator, ensure the highest quality of the medical services and activities in the field
  • Support the Base managers and Field Coordinator in the daily management of the medical human resources in the base and clinics of MDM in KP and FATA
  • Provide to the Base Managers all relevant information regarding medical activities that could have an impact on the logistics and administration of the base, clinics, and Sm filed.
  • Provide clinical services directly, in case of need, in any of the clinics of MDM in Kpk
  • In collaboration with the Medco,  adapt and/or update all the medical protocols according to the needs
  • Supervise the medical & nutritional activities on site and implement any corrective measure when necessary.
  • Supervise the Pharmacy management and the data collection activities
  • Visit regularly the communities and discuss with them the main issues
  • Follow up with the referral patients

3.       Assessment / Training

  • Participate in the discussions with the coordination team about new orientations and assessment needs.
  • Assist the meal coordinator in the analysis of the data and assessments
  • Participate directly in the assessment when required.
  • Set up training sessions for medical, paramedical and social mobilization staff of MDM.
  • Assess the need in terms of capacity building for the team and provide solution accordingly, training needs, etc.
  • Improve or recommend management/technical tools in collaboration with Medical Coordinator

4.       Representation

  • In charge of MDM representation in different medical meetings and do appropriate feedback (minutes)
  • In charge of the relations with EDO/H and other health authorities at both district and provincial level.

5.       Reporting and coordination

6.       Participation in the writing of different reports (weekly reports, donor’s reports, HQ reports, MoH & WHO reports…)

7.       Participate in the development of project proposals for the medical part.

8.       Participate in MDM training and meetings

AOB as required for a smooth implementation of the program
