Program / Department Summary
Balochistan province has experienced the worst humanitarian crisis in the floods of 2022. Mercy Corps as the lead agency with partners Bright Star Development Society Balochistan (BSDSB), Strengthening Participatory Organization (SPO) and The Reformist’s Social Welfare and Development Organization (WORDS), is implementing a six-month emergency recovery response to deliver integrated humanitarian assistance to vulnerable individuals affected by the recent and ongoing floods in Quetta, Jaffarabad and Sohbatpur districts in Balochistan province. The intervention will be delivered through four results areas, in line with the UN Flood Response Plan: The most vulnerable flood-affected populations will receive emergency assistance packages, equitable access to safe water and safe excreta disposal facilities, and adopt safe hygiene practices, access to primary health care and have safe and dignified shelter solutions.
General Position Summary:
The Project Monitoring Officer will support Field Coordinator in overseeing and monitoring of field level activities in the field. S/he will provide support in data collection, analyzing data, developing case studies, and documenting learnings. S/he will undertake spot visits to the program locations and actions, maintain issue log, and monitor progress on the identified issues as per agreed action plan. S/he will also be designated response CARM focal point and will work with the CARM focal person in Islamabad in carrying out CARM implementation at the field level.
