• Supervision of LHV staff with all aspects of maternity care.
• Ensuring adequate handover of patients to oncoming staff.
• To accompany patients when transferring between departments.
• Participating in training sessions.
• Keeping the labor room stocked and tidy.
• Participating in filling our daily consumption sheets.
• Being aware of the procedures to follow after accidental exposure to blood.
• Documentation of antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum care in nursing notes.
• Carrying our daily/ weekly checking of equipment including cleaning of emergency equipment.
• Assisting with weekly drug order and monthly stock inventories.
• Participating in filling our daily consumption sheets and re-ordering stock if required.
• Checking and ordering of weekly stock in the assessment room.
• Collaborating with cleaning staff to maintain a good standard of hygiene in the maternity department
