We are looking for a senior software engineer, with accountability to develop and maintain data drivers which collect data from various telecom devices. There is a secondary aspect to the role which covers database administrator for countries’ dialing plans and telecom carrier data. The data is used by the product (Proteus) to calculate telecom call costs.
The product (Proteus) is an enterprise product but can also be used as cloud offering. The product is marketed for local government organisations, universities, international organisations and financial trading organisations, and the product supports multiple countries, telecom carriers, currencies and languages, is being sold in UK and rest of the world with a large customer base.
The role focuses on several major areas of responsibility:
- Develop and maintain data drivers to collect data from telecom devices.
- Liaise with telecom device manufactures, partners and technical support engineers to collect and update technical info.
- Proactively collect and maintain countries’ dialling plans and telecom carrier databases.
- Migrate the current data drivers which were mostly developed in Microsoft C++ to new architecture based on Microsoft .Net platform.
Qualifications:
- Good written and oral communication skills;
- Ability to multi-task; exceptional attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
- Experience working independently, as well as providing technical support and liaising with technical partners.
- At least five years of experience in C++ and good understanding in full-stack development VB.NET / C/ MFC / STL Microsoft SQL / ADO.NET Web Services: REST/SOAP / COM
Other Required Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's Degree (BA or BS) or higher from four-year accredited college or university, preferably in a computer science or technical discipline or equivalent related experience and/or training.
Experience with telecommunications solutions and digital interaction platforms is desirable.
