The Case Worker Team Lead will be responsible to oversee the case management team in the designated district. The Case Worker Team Lead will be responsible for the effective implementation and proper documentation of all CP cases, through the oversight and support of four to five caseworkers. The Team Lead works in close collaboration with the other members of the CP team, including DCPU Staff, and ensures that trends and challenges are properly communicated, documented, and reported to the DCPU administrator.  

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

  • To ensure children harmed or at risk of being harmed are identified and receive individual case management support by conducting documentation, assessments, action plans, direct service provision, referrals, and follow-ups for an assigned caseload of children
  • To provide support to families in the process of case management, including alternative care (if applicable)
  • To directly work with other caseworkers and service providers on the management of cases, including referrals
  • To provide organizational and planning support to the case management/case worker team.
  • To collaborate with other child protection colleagues and key stakeholders in order to regularly report on cases and trends.

SPECIFIC ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Administrative Case Management Supervision: 

  • Ensure the case worker team successfully implements case management, as per the Sindh Case Management manual and guidance.
  • Ensure planning, monitoring, and reporting tools are utilized and completed accordingly by the case worker team.
  • Maintaining and updating spreadsheets with mapped services and focal points for service provisions in collaboration with DCPU administration.
  • Review case files through case file checklists on a monthly basis.
  • Produce analysis on case trends
  • Draft and submit activity plans and weekly and monthly reports in a timely manner

2. Community and Interagency Coordination:

  • Liaise with service providers, CP partners, and government stakeholders to ensure safe identification and referral of children at risk, according to the Sindh Case Management Manuals and Guidance.
  • Ensure that the case management team maintains an up-to-date service mapping for the geographical area.
  • Lead inter-agency case conferences (presentation of cases and dissemination of challenges), as per the Singh Case Management Guidelines

3. Case Management Teamwork:

  • Lead regular case management meetings with the case worker team (one meeting every 1-2 weeks).
  • Promote self-care and team building of the case management team.

4. Communications and Working Relationships:

  • Position Reports to District Child Protection Officer
  • Position directly supervises: Caseworkers
  • DCPU Administrator: Overall management of activities at the field office level.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of bachelor in social work, human rights, or related degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in implementing case management in humanitarian or development settings preferred.
  • Experience in community mobilization and conducting outreach activities, including the ability to work on supporting case management work for children at risk.
  • Sound writing, facilitation, and organizational skills.
  • Command of the English language and the local (Sindhi)Language of the affected population.
  • Adhere to the Child Protection Policy, Safeguarding policy, and Code of Conduct.
  • Teambuilding and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills with children and their caregivers.
  • Able to empathize with children and families that have been impacted by the humanitarian emergency.
  • Skills in planning, monitoring, and reporting, as well as problem-solving preferred.
  • Experience working with case files and databases and providing regular documentation.
  • Ability to work individually and within a team.
  • Able to communicate clearly and strategically with internal and external stakeholders as a representative.
  • Computer knowledge - Microsoft Word, Excel.
