The Audit Semi-Senior is responsible for assisting in the planning, execution, and completion of audit engagements. The role involves performing audit testing, preparing working papers, identifying issues, and ensuring that audit work complies with professional standards. The Semi-Senior also supports junior staff and contributes to maintaining effective client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of audit engagements across various industries.
  • Perform substantive and control testing on financial statement line items.
  • Prepare audit documentation and working papers in compliance with firm standards.
  • Identify audit findings, variances, and internal control weaknesses, and discuss them with seniors.
  • Ensure all assigned audit work is completed within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Prepare draft financial statements and management letters.
  • Support audit seniors and assistant managers in reviewing junior staff work.
  • Liaise with client personnel to obtain necessary information and resolve queries.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting and auditing standards (IFRS, IAS, GAAP, ISA, etc.).
  • Participate in internal training and contribute to team development.

Requirements:

Education & Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
  • Professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) – part-qualified or in progress.

Experience:

  • 2–3 years of experience in audit, preferably in a professional accounting firm.
  • Good understanding of auditing techniques, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and audit software (e.g., CaseWare, Excel).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.
