MMBA Chartered Certified Accountants is seeking a meticulous Payroll Administrator with at least three years of experience to manage and execute payroll functions accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate possesses in-depth knowledge of UK payroll and pension regulations, ensuring full compliance with legal standards. This role involves handling payroll processing, managing timekeeping systems, and overseeing benefit deductions while utilizing advanced payroll software tools. The Payroll Administrator plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate payroll records and supporting the finance department in adhering to all regulatory requirements. The Payroll Administrator works independently and does not manage a team but is responsible for coordinating with related departments to guarantee timely and accurate payroll execution. The position demands precision, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of payroll processing systems, including platforms such as ADP Workforce Now and Paychex. This role requires a proactive professional who can navigate complex payroll regulations and contribute to the companys overall financial compliance and employee satisfaction.
Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately and on time in compliance with UK regulations and company policies.
  • Manage and maintain employee timekeeping systems to ensure accurate attendance and leave records.
  • Calculate and deduct employee benefits, taxes, and pension contributions correctly.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation, pensions, and tax regulations relevant to the UK.
  • Utilize payroll software systems such as ADP Workforce Now and Paychex to enter and verify payroll data.
  • Prepare and submit statutory reports and returns related to payroll, including tax and pension filings.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies related to pay, deductions, and benefits.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance departments to coordinate payroll activities and resolve employee queries.
  • Ensure confidential handling of payroll information and maintain secure records.
  • Perform routine audits of payroll transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Stay informed about any changes in payroll regulations and update processes accordingly.
  • Assist in the generation of payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the companys pension schemes by calculating contributions and managing pension-related payroll tasks.
