- Design and implement highly scalable API Solutions leveraging DevOps methodology while meeting business timeline and budget
- Build services and micro services on AWS while applying API policies
- Responsible for working with development teams to design API integration services platform and API Onboarding Responsible to ensure all APIs are developed along the same guidelines.
- Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function.
- Help with selection of API automation related tools and governance / API automation.
- Define roadmap for the integration platform
- Work on technical POC's to prove out technology and ultimately leading into selection
- Closely working with our front-end and architecture teams
- Hire & develop top talent
- Maintain high morale and motivate engineers to go above and beyond
- Daily management of objectives, priorities, trade-offs, risk and performance management of the team
- Manage distributed team of software engineers
- Lead organizational improvements by establishing growth and learning paths for individual team members
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with Product Managers, UX/UI, DevOps, Web, Frontend, Embedded teams, to design and develop robust middleware
- Experience in handling requests for Cloud services deployment activities
- Provide support in identifying risks and issues and help manage them
- BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or related field preferred
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience managing Middleware/API teams
- Experience of API development with deep understanding of API Management usage / use cases etc. Experience with .Net Core & Node.js
- Expert level understanding of API and integration design patterns & best practice
- Experienced in building and managing REST APIs.
- Working knowledge of AWS
- Should be very strong in creating/ defining Swagger specs for REST APIs, understand REST principles, Guidelines
- Should be very strong in REST APIs, SOAP, Web APIs, JSON, XML
- Should be very strong in REST and SOAP Security including OAUTH, SAML, token etc.
- Experience leveraging DevOps methodologies to accelerate software delivery and improve accuracy
- In depth experience using Agile, Scrum and iterative development practice
- Experience in deployment on AWS and/or Azure
- Experience in additional languages such as Go & Python is a plus
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
