Evolution of the Procurement Division at Nestlé:

To ensure that Nestlé achieves its objective of sustainable growth, a new Procurement Division is being created with hubs in Switzerland, Panama and Malaysia. They will provide a range of services, including the management of procurement for specific raw materials, packaging, indirect materials and other services. The hubs will also support markets with managing local spend.   In order to implement and drive the success of our new procurement model, we are looking for a highly competent Global Procurement Category Manager based in Malaysia, responsible for managing the commercial and sourcing activity for all Manufacturing Equipment and Services used by Nestlé worldwide.

Reporting directly to the procurement category leader, you will lead and ensure the ongoing success of a strategic buyers’ team and be responsible for the flawless execution of the category sourcing strategy globally. You will be responsible for the end to end management of the spend category, creating competitive advantage and contributing to the reduction of operational risk.

What will be your key responsibilities?  

• Develop and lead the sourcing strategies for your category whilst interacting with relevant Business Partners and stakeholders.
• Ensure Supplier Relationship Management by taking supplier development and management actions.
• Handle negotiations seeking the best Total Cost Ownership contracts and the most beneficial commercial agreements with suppliers
• Manage sourcing teams to create and implement the Above Market Spend Category Strategies.
• Develop team capabilities by leveraging category knowledge and leadership skills.
• Overall management of reporting on your category and handle business planning and price forecast activities.
• Promote and ensure compliance to Nestlé's Corporate Business Principles, policies and standards.

What is required?  

• University degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Supply Chain or Engineering.
• 10+ years’ experience in a strategic sourcing or procurement environment (above market experience / large market structures), ideally in the food or FMCG industry.
• Proven track record in managing teams in complex organizations and developing key talents and people.
• Demonstrated experience in a range of different spend categories and proven record as a Category Manager in different categories.
• Able to influence both internal stakeholders & senior management and present key sourcing strategies to Sourcing team and senior leaders.
• Experience in managing Supplier development initiatives & ability to lead supplier negotiations, contracts
• Ability to manage change processes cross-functionally and with external suppliers.
• Understanding of National and International Procurement Regulations.
• Fluency in English, other languages will be an asset.
