We are looking for a talented individual to join our team in the role of a Systems Administrator who will focus improving the efficiency of our infrastructure and availability of our applications. This candidate must have strong analysis and troubleshooting skills with experience managing enterprise class applications and infrastructure. Strong experience with open-source technologies is required. He/she will be responsible for a broad spectrum of technologies including firewalls, networking, WiFi, VPN’s, network security, WSUS, Group Policy, backup systems, Hyper-V, Linux servers, FreePBX, MySQL, MSSQL, VMware
Responsibilities
- Implementation, configuration, coordination, control, maintenance, troubleshooting, security, usage monitoring and the development of specialized system procedures
- Maintain site servers and hosted web applications, ensuring uptime and site responsiveness
- Manage an environment comprised of Windows, Linux systems and VME’s
- Setup, configure, manage and support Linux servers
- Manage various network devices and services (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, etc.)
- Participate in product discussions, influence the roadmap and take ownership and responsibility for new projects to make them happen
- Lead technical investigations of issues within the web server infrastructure
- Be willing to work off-hours when necessitated by business requirements or system failures. Required Skills
- 5+ years recent experience
- 4+ years’ experience with Windows Server operating systems & technologies (.NET, IIS, etc.)
- 2+ years managing .NET Web applications
- 2+ years’ experience with server virtualization technologies (e.g., VMWare, Hyper-V, Xen, etc.)
- 3+ years of experience working with high volume Linux servers and distributions (Red Hat/CentOS preferred)
- Familiarity and operational knowledge of open-source systems in a mixed Windows/Linux environment
- Strong analysis and troubleshooting skills including experience with related tools
- Proficient in scripting technologies (PowerShell, Bash, Perl, Python, Ruby, etc.)
- Experience with various monitoring packages (e.g. Zabbix, nagios, cacti, munin, etc.)
- Some experience interacting with SQL database servers (MS SQL preferred, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Experience working with Puppet or other configuration management systems
- Operational experience with public cloud providers (AWS, Azure, etc)
