We are seeking a highly creative and motivated Research Assistant/Associate to join the Communication & Networks research group development wing, at the university located in Islamabad. You will have the opportunity to test your knowledge in a challenging problem-solving environment.
Responsibilities:
Create simulation of network models representative of the target system using C / C++ / Python in one or more of the following tools: NS-2/NS-3, ndnSIM.
You will spend time developing new network environment using simulation tools and routing algorithms.
You’ll have to code C, C++, or Python, with industry standard coding and regression practices.
Coordinate with configuration management and implementation teams.
Write scripts / code for functions / for recommend procurement, removals, modifications to network components and features required for specific simulation of given VANET environment.
Skills
3+ years of programming experience in building simulation models in ns-2/ns-3, ndnSIM.
Deep technical skills for network modeling and simulation especially in Name base networking environment
Experience with various wireless network protocols, including MANET,VANETs
Analyze network characteristics (e.g., traffic, connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes, and throughput); recommend procurement, removals, and modifications to network components.
Experience with simulation of RF standards like (4G/5G), 802.11p, OR similar broadband wireless standards
A passion for creating innovative techniques and making these methods robust and scalable .
Good to have:
BS, or MS in Computer Science
Relevant work experience, including industry, teaching experience or as a researcher in a lab
Contribution to research communities and/or efforts, including publishing papers at conferences or journals.
