Medical Laboratory seeking qualified personnel for expansion of its clinical and pathology services in various cities of the Punjab.
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
• Act and perform the responsibilities of a Medical Laboratory Director
• Supervise the operation of laboratory
• Planning and supervising the work of the pathology staff.
• Liaising with other medical professionals to discuss patient treatment plans.
• Oversee the integrity of specimen collection and testing.
• Oversee the collection of blood and plasma at blood banks.
• Monitoring Cross-matching blood for use in transfusions.
• Investigating the biochemistry of blood clotting.
• Assisting colleagues in the interpretation of test results.
• Develops or adopts new tests and methodologies to improve diagnosis of diseases.
• Maintaining accurate and detailed records.
• Determining the suitability of the donor for blood donation. After evaluation of the health questionnaire and medical examination including the results of pre-donation screening tests, he/she should confirm that the criteria are being fulfilled.
• Providing pre-donation information to the potential donor.
• Managing all the adverse effects in the donor.
• Documenting the adverse reaction.
• Supervising the blood bank working and rule out any discrepancy.
• Examining microscopic samples to identify diseases or other abnormalities.
• Diagnosing diseases or study medical conditions using techniques such as gross pathology, histology, cytology, cytopathology, clinical chemistry, immunology, flow cytometry, and molecular biology.
• Obtaining specimens by performing procedures such as biopsies and fine need aspirations (FNAs) of superficial nodules.
• Verifying and interpret results from tests such as microbial or parasite tests, urine analyses, hormonal assays, fine needle aspirations (FNAs), and polymerase chain reactions (PCRs).
• Responsible for carrying out teaching/training and accreditation duties as required and contributing to Continuing Medical Education.
• To be accountable for implementation of the Code of Practice within department/area of responsibility.
MBBS with FCPS / MCSP / M. Phil./ Ph. D./ M. Sc. (2 yrs) in the relevant subject or other equivalent qualification OR MBBS with M. Sc. In the relevant subject with post graduate qualification like DC Path or other equivalent qualification with two year practical experience in the relevant subject in a recognized institution.
