Deputy Manager Assembly will be responsible for overseeing the assembly process of products, ensuring that quality standards are met and the assembly line is running smoothly and efficiently. The candidate is expected to have experience managing a team of assembly workers, as well as experience in quality control and production. Be able to work independently and take the initiative in problem-solving. The Assembly Manager will report directly to the Team Lead of Production.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing company policies and procedures
- Maximize the productivity of the assembly line by ensuring that all workers have the necessary tools, parts, and instructions to do their jobs
- Schedule workers for shifts and assign tasks based on production needs
- Train new employees on proper safety procedures and company policies
- Investigate accidents or incidents to determine the root cause and take corrective action to prevent a recurrence
- Monitor the quality of products coming off the assembly line and take corrective action as needed
- Work with other departments to improve assembly processes
- Develop and implement plans to increase efficiency and reduce waste
- Prepare reports on productivity, quality, and other metrics
- Maintain equipment and machinery used in the assembly process, ordering repairs and replacements as needed
- Manage inventory of assembly parts and materials, placing orders as needed
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Electrical, Electronics, Telecom or related field, preferably assembly plants of electronic products.
- 5+ years experience in an assembly or production management role.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Familiarity with industry-related certifications.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills and experience
