Django / Postgres Developer - Remote

We have an exciting opportunity to join a web based e-commerce platform which is aimed at the global streetwear market. The company is based in the UK and has experience in working with remote developers.

This a full-time remote role.

We are looking for a developer with the following skills.

• Django + Postgres
• At least 4+ years of commercial experience
• Good level of written and spoken English
• Scraping e-commerce websites for prices
• Working with APIs
• Working with Payment Gateways (Stripe Subscription) 
• Ability to bug test thoroughly before presenting work as finished
• Knowledge in working with large datasets
• Knowledge on how best to scale code and server to handle 100k users per month. 
• Ability to create flowcharts to illustrate data flow to explain to non-technical parts of the team.  
• Using GIT

Optional

• Experience with WordPress API
• Core PHP experience. 
• Knowledge or understanding of setting up and managing Digital Ocean servers
• You will be working UK time 10am - 7pm and this can be adjusted slightly for the right candidate.

• The client has a web-based successful transactional platform which is very successful and now the idea is to expand the business and offer additional products that can be sold to the same audience as the existing website has very high traffic. 
• The new ventures are in the beta phase and the company is looking for an experienced person to take the lead on these projects.
• This role is aimed at someone who is not only a superb developer but also has the skills to think outside the box and offer input and discuss any ideas on how best they can or should be executed.
• The project scope and objectives are evolved by the owner of the business who has a good idea on how development works but isn’t a developer.
• Business goals will be identified and discussed and it will be your job to bring them to life.
• What the business doesn’t want is a developer who just follows instructions as business logic and how things should be done needs discussions and ideas.
• You will be full of ideas and enthusiastic at all times and confident with your decisions. 
• Daily discussions and project management is done via Basecamp.com.
• You will be discussing things over text chat more than voice or video, so your written English must be to a decent level.
• You must also be confident to speak English as at times you will be required to meet on Video or Audio.
