- Assess the accuracy and completeness of financial statements and accounting records
- Create and maintain a chart of accounts
- Establish well-documented systems for record keeping and accounting; maintaining historical records
- Research financial variances and analyze financial data; compiling and reconciling work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
- Prepare monthly reconciliations and variances comparison for revenue
- Develop budgets and compare actual revenues to estimated revenues
- Measure compliance with accounting and finance standards, best practices, and government regulations
- Post customer payments by recording cash and cheque transactions.
- Post revenues by verifying and entering transactions from fee collections and revenue deposits.
- Update receivables by totaling unpaid invoices.
- Verify validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, customer service departments, and from customers;
- Resolve valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries.
- Resolve invalid or unauthorized deductions by following pending deductions procedures.
- Resolve collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, coordinating contact with stations.
- Summarize receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; coordinating monthly transfer to accounts receivable account; verify totals; prepare report(s).
- Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
