Responsibilities
- Lead a team of front-end developers and work with them to cultivate new skills
- Develop front-end layouts using XHTML, CSS & JavaScript (JQuery and other libraries).
- Appropriate use of hooks in HTML to limit the amount of classes and ID's.
- Deep understanding of CSS inheritance and how to use it to your advantage.
- Always weed out extraneous markup.
- A good ideology for managing maintainable, scalable and cross-browser code across large sites.
- In-depth knowledge of IE quirks and how to address them.
- Experience working with jQuery and advanced JavaScript.
- Utilize CSS3 while maintaining fallback for browsers that don't support it.
- Ready to take advantage of HTML5 as the spec is finalized.
- Assess requirements and provide time estimates to project managers.
- Meet the design requirements to integrating code with the back-end development team.
- Ensure that front-end layouts are fully compatible across major browsers
- Take complete responsibility and ownership over your work and that of your team.
- Raise awareness of new technologies and development methodologies.
Requirements
- Extensive experience with XHTML and CSS, which includes the ability to cleanly hand code table-less, cross browser and cross platform compatible pages.
- Advanced JavaScript knowledge, including experience and comfort with jQuery or any other library.
- Meticulous attention to detail (pixel-perfect translation of mockups to working sites).
- Strong background with the Adobe Suite, with particular emphasis on Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Knowledge of best practices regarding W3C standards, SEO, and accessibility.
- Knowledge of Flash & ActionScript is a major plus.
- A visible passion for the web and new and emerging technology.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast paced team oriented environment.
