Pace Telecom seeks a skilled Network Engineer with at least two years of experience to design, implement, and maintain complex network systems. This role focuses on ensuring robust network performance, security, and reliability by applying extensive knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall management. The ideal candidate is proficient in TCP/IP and BGP routing protocols, including hands-on experience with Cisco IOS and Juniper Junos OS configurations. Experience with network troubleshooting and monitoring tools is essential to quickly identify and resolve network issues.
This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can work independently without managing a team. Preference will be given to candidates with previous exposure to Internet Service Provider (ISP) environments, where they have contributed to network design and architecture, route filtering, and policy implementation. The Network Engineer will collaborate closely with other technical teams to optimize network infrastructure performance and security, playing a critical role in supporting the companys telecommunications services.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Implement and manage routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF to ensure efficient network traffic flow.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues to maintain high availability and performance.
- Develop and enforce network security policies including route filtering and firewall configurations.
- Configure and manage Cisco IOS and Juniper Junos OS platforms focusing on BGP configuration and policy implementation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable and resilient network architectures.
- Conduct regular network assessments to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Analyze network traffic patterns and optimize routing to reduce latency and prevent bottlenecks.
- Participate in ISP network management projects, applying industry best practices for routing and switching.
- Document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures for knowledge sharing and continuity.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies in networking and implement upgrades as necessary to improve network capabilities.
