Pak Turk Maarif International Schools & Colleges is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Librarian with at least three years of experience to manage and enhance our library resources. The ideal candidate holds a relevant degree in library science or a related field and demonstrates strong organizational and cataloging skills. This role focuses on the management of school and college library collections to support academic excellence. The Librarian plays a critical role in assisting students and staff with research, ensuring efficient access to information, and maintaining a well-structured digital and physical library environment.
The Librarian supports collection development, digital library management, and research assistance to foster a productive learning atmosphere. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential to interact effectively with students and staff, guiding them in using the library's resources and developing their research capabilities. Although this position does not involve managing a team, it requires a proactive approach to maintaining library standards and encouraging resource utilization across the academic community.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the cataloging and classification of library materials to ensure easy access and retrieval.
- Oversee digital library management systems to support contemporary learning methods and resource accessibility.
- Develop and continuously update the library collection, including books, periodicals, digital media, and other educational resources.
- Assist students and staff with research needs by guiding them in finding and using appropriate resources effectively.
- Organize and conduct training sessions and orientations to enhance user understanding of library services and digital tools.
- Collaborate with academic departments to align library resources with curriculum requirements and research objectives.
- Maintain accurate records of library inventory, acquisitions, and usage statistics to inform collection development strategies.
- Ensure the library environment is welcoming, organized, and conducive to study and research activities.
- Respond to user inquiries promptly and provide excellent customer service to foster a supportive academic community.
- Implement library policies and procedures that maintain the quality, security, and integrity of library resources.
